Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the Capital Improvement Plan, overseeing the design and construction of major and minor capital projects.
  • Review private sector development projects for adequate infrastructure and traffic capacity.
  • Supervise and manage the Office of the City Engineer, responsible for design and construction management, city survey and construction stakeout, storm water management, and site grading permits.
  • Procure and manage professional consultants and contractors for various engineering and construction-related studies, design efforts, and projects.
  • Coordinate with federal, state, county, and municipal agencies, and private organizations for permitting, funding, constructing, and maintaining various capital projects and municipal improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university, plus four to ten years of experience in engineering systems, utilities, and support facilities related to building construction.
  • Current Professional Engineer license in Maryland or ability to obtain licensure within twelve months.
  • Valid driver's license.
