Job Opportunity

The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a highly skilled physician to serve as the Clinical Director of the Cardiology Division at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional patient care and demonstrate a commitment to teaching and research.
  • Lead the Cardiology Division, overseeing clinical and educational assignments, administrative functions, and mentoring colleagues.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor fellows, residents, and medical students, promoting their growth and development.
  • Develop and maintain advanced echocardiography skills and expertise in cardiac imaging.
  • Pursue opportunities for heart failure research and consult service leadership, including interventional and/or structural cardiology.

Requirements:

  • US citizenship
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in any US state
  • Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine degree
  • Residency training in Internal Medicine in any US state
  • Board eligibility or certification in Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification
  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
