We are seeking an experienced pediatric critical care physician to join our team at the Children's Hospital of Richmond, part of the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System.

About This Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic effort to create a superior academic pediatric critical care division. As a faculty member, you will have the chance to teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in the area of critical care medicine.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching: Provide didactic and bedside teaching for students, residents, and fellows, promoting excellence in clinical care and research.
  • Research: Participate in clinical, translational, and outcomes research that aligns with the division's goals and objectives.
  • Service: Serve on departmental, hospital, or School of Medicine level committees as appropriate, and engage in professional activities through journal review, conference presentations, etc.
  • Clinical: Work as a pediatric critical care medicine physician, providing 24/7 coverage of the intensive care unit.
Requirements
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
  • Experience with clinical care of patients, particularly in pediatric trauma, neurosurgery, cardiovascular surgery, pediatric burn care, solid organ and stem cell transplantation.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in an academic medical center.
  • Additonal training and/or extensive experience caring for pediatric surgical/trauma patients.
  • Additonal training and/or extensive experience caring for congenital heart surgery patients.

Estimated salary range: $250,000 - $400,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
