Caregiver/Medication Technician

Are you a compassionate individual dedicated to supporting others? We are seeking professional, empathetic, and patient individuals to join our Direct Care team at Irvine Head Injury Inc.
Position Summary:
The Caregiver/Medication Technician is tasked with the daily oversight and assistance of clients as outlined in their personalized treatment plans. The ideal candidate will possess the capability to aid clients requiring varying levels of care, alongside executing daily medication distributions, light housekeeping duties, and meal preparations while delivering exceptional direct support to clients.
Essential Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year experience working with individuals with traumatic brain injuries or in rehabilitation settings is preferred.
Must hold a current valid driver's license with no more than three (3) points or possess a valid state identification.
Ability to pass a drug screening is required.
A negative TB test result is mandatory prior to employment.
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
Physical Requirements:
Capability to assist clients with mobility, including lifting, bending, stretching, sitting, and standing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct support to adult clients in accordance with their established care plans.
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting.
- Supervise and/or assist clients in alignment with their person-centered plans, including personal care, recreational activities, and support for individual rehabilitation goals.
- Administer and document medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate daily logs for each client, including goals, completed tasks, and behavioral observations before the end of each shift. Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records software is essential.
- Perform moderate housekeeping duties as assigned daily, adhering to healthcare facility guidelines for cleaning, disinfecting, and infection control to maintain a safe and clean environment for clients and visitors.
- Prepare and/or serve meals following a set menu and dietary guidelines. Knowledge of proper food storage and handling of leftovers is required. Engage clients in chores and encourage participation when motivation is lacking.
Work Schedule: Flexibility to work Day, Afternoon, or Night shifts, including weekends and holidays is necessary.
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Afternoon Shift: Varies 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM
- Night Shift: 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Rotating weekends and alternate holidays are part of the schedule.
Compensation: $17.00 per hour
