Under the guidance of Supervisors, the role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including: managing trayline operations, portioning and serving food items, stocking necessary supplies, delivering and retrieving meal carts, preparing beverages and desserts for patients and functions, assembling late trays, handling phone communications, setting up and clearing functions, and maintaining cleanliness. The individual will adhere to established performance standards and is entrusted with sensitive patient and organizational information, necessitating strict compliance with confidentiality protocols, including HIPAA regulations. The role also involves reporting any security incidents or potential risks to the organization and participating in patient safety initiatives aligned with the hospital's Mission and Values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute assigned trayline duties efficiently.
- Prepare the trayline workstation by ensuring all necessary food items, beverages, and utensils are stocked for timely service.
- Assemble patient trays in accordance with hygiene, presentation, and accuracy standards.
- Maintain a smooth workflow to prevent delays in meal service.
- Clean and restock the workstation after each service.
- Deliver patient trays to designated areas with complete accuracy.
- Return meal carts on schedule to avoid disruptions in dishroom operations.
- Perform food preparation tasks as assigned.
- Accurately prepare and portion food, ensuring proper labeling and dating.
- Organize tasks to meet deadlines for trayline, cafeteria service, or special events.
- Timely assemble and dispatch late trays to patient units.
- Set up and provide food for special requests.
- Demonstrate proficiency in assigned dishroom tasks.
- Utilize dishwashing equipment correctly and record temperatures as required.
- Report any equipment malfunctions to management.
- Handle kitchen utensils and dishware with care, ensuring proper washing and storage.
- Adhere to safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols.
- Inspect all cleaned items before reuse.
