Key Responsibilities and Job Tasks- Design and execute tailored speech and language therapy programs that align with our structured educational framework, incorporating innovative techniques to boost student engagement and communication proficiency.
- Conduct evaluations to determine students' speech and language requirements, continuously assessing their progress and modifying therapeutic approaches to meet changing needs.
- Collaborate closely with educators, occupational therapists, and assistive technology experts to create a comprehensive educational experience, integrating speech and language objectives into broader learning strategies.
- Engage in a systematic daily data collection process to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of speech and language interventions, utilizing digital tools for real-time feedback and adjustments.
- Connect with families and community organizations to enhance students' communication development in various environments, building a supportive network for student growth.
- Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in speech and language pathology, participating in ongoing professional development to introduce innovative strategies to the academy.
- Specialization in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC): We are looking for a Speech and Language Pathologist with specialized expertise in supporting students who require augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). The ideal candidate will be skilled in conducting thorough AAC assessments, creating individualized AAC strategies, and implementing these communication systems within educational contexts. This role involves not only providing direct intervention but also training staff, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and collecting ongoing data to evaluate the effectiveness of AAC methodologies. A strong emphasis is placed on integrating AAC techniques to support the overall communication and learning objectives of students with diverse needs.
- Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology
- Valid state license in Speech and Language Pathology
- Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
- Experience working with children with varied communication needs, including those with behavioral and sensory challenges
- Experience with AAC assessment and implementation.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
