Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Specialist III/IV to provide services to students at various schools within the Windward District. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with school personnel and other professionals to develop and implement individualized behavior intervention/management plans.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assess and identify problem behaviors in individuals through established professional protocols, including personal interviews, discussions with school personnel, and review of written records.
  2. Develop and implement individualized behavior intervention/management plans, specifying techniques, methods, and strategies to interrupt problem behavior and promote alternative skills.
  3. Work collaboratively with school personnel and other professionals to implement behavior intervention/management plans.
  4. Conduct behavior management counseling and skill training sessions for individuals and groups to achieve behavior management goals.
  5. Provide regular sessions with individuals and their families to improve functioning and facilitate effective communication and problem-solving.
  6. Advise school personnel and others on the use of appropriate techniques, methods, and strategies to facilitate achievement of behavior intervention/management plan goals.
  7. Participate in the integration of services to individuals in various settings as appropriate.
  8. Prepare and maintain individual case records, correspondence, and reports in accordance with established rules, policies, and procedures.
Requirements

Applicants must possess a Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in counseling, marriage/family therapy, psychology, or social work. Additionally, applicants must have had progressively responsible experience providing counseling and/or therapy to individuals and/or their families, including assisting individuals resolve behavioral problems.

Quality of experience is essential, and applicants must demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position. A current, valid driver's license may be required for some positions.

Desirable Qualifications

Possession of a current National Certified Counselor credential from the National Board of Certified Counselors is desirable.
