Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Echo Technician Accreditation Specialist to join our team at Methodist Hospital. As a key member of our Non-Invasive Cardiology/Neurodiagnostic Services team, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and supervising all aspects of on-going cardiac echo and vascular imaging training for current staff members, future staff members, and students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of lab accreditation for both cardiac ultrasound and vascular imaging
  • Develop and maintain all ongoing documentation to support and implement departmental accreditation for both the Cardiac Ultrasound and Vascular Labs
  • Staff as needed to perform routine patient exams at a high technical level to include Echocardiograms, Carotids, TEEs, and Tilt Tables for adult patients
  • Train all staff and students to perform at a high level of competency
  • Keep abreast of all technological advances in the fields of echocardiography and vascular imaging

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare field from a university
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a hospital setting directly working in the field of cardiac ultrasound/vascular imaging
  • One year's experience must have included a responsible role for the teaching/training of students and/or new orientees
  • Candidate must have completed coursework from an accredited echo-training program
  • Courses in Advanced Anatomy and Physiology, and Medical Terminology are required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office required
  • Candidate must possess a registry in adult echocardiography (RCDS)
