Job Description

Akira Technologies, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Database Administrator to support the delivery of cloud-related database services and products to our federal clients.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing database support for cloud services through monitoring, incident response and resolution, for both public and private cloud platforms in the Azure environment.

This role requires strong experience in cloud technologies, cloud services, IaC, cloud storage, cloud networking, and cloud security.

The candidate will need to have a strong background in the use of technologies such as cloud vNets, network security groups/ACLs, load balancer, traffic manager, firewalls, peering, private endpoints, etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain database performance and availability.
  • Respond to and resolve database-related incidents and issues.
  • Implement and manage database security and access controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database services meet business requirements.

Requirements

  • BA or BS in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5-7 years experience in setting up and configuring cloud services such as Microsoft Azure.
  • 5-7 years hands-on experience in Terraform.
  • 5+ years experience in migrating on-premise databases to cloud platforms such as Azure.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, cloud services, infrastructure as code (IaC), cloud storage, cloud networking, and cloud security.
  • Extensive experience in Cloud vNets, Network Security Groups/ACLs, Load balancer, Traffic Manager, firewalls, peering, private endpoints, etc.
  • Experience in high availability, replication, backup and restore/recovery, disaster recovery and monitoring of databases in hybrid cloud.
  • Extensive experience with cloud database services and proficient in programming languages such as python and shell scripting, etc.
  • Experience automating infrastructure setup and application deployment using best practices of CI/CD with tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, and Terraform.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based security tools, best practices and policies including demonstrated experience protecting all layers of the application stack.
  • Must be a US Citizen and clearable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Government contractor experience.
  • Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g. Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus.
