Job Summary

Abacus Technology Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Database Administration Manager to provide expert-level database support for the DoE Office of Environment, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS). This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in database administration, analysis, and design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide all activities related to EHSS Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database administration, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security.
  • Analyze database and storage requirements and develop data storage strategies to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
  • Communicate with management, technical, and development staff to evaluate database needs and develop solutions.
  • Develop and document requirements such as concurrent usage factors, data storage requirements, response rates, and security requirements.
  • Project long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of database management systems. Bachelor's degree in a related field. Oracle or MS Azure certification a plus. Experience analyzing organizations' database needs and developing long-term strategies for data storage. Demonstrable experience establishing policies and procedures related to data security and integrity. Experience monitoring and managing/limiting database access. Experience overseeing the design, maintenance, and implementation of systems that manage internal databases. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization. Organized, attentive to detail, and willing to pursue resolutions to issues as they arise. Must be a US citizen and hold a current DoD Top Secret or DoE Q clearance.
