Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Assistant to join our team at Scion Nonprofit Staffing. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, smooth transaction processing, and balanced budget operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and process incoming donations, including checks and shares of stock, and communicate with donors about transactions.
  • Deposit checks through a remote scanner and record entries in the general ledger daily using NetSuite.
  • Reconcile revenue entries between Raiser's Edge and NetSuite to maintain alignment with bank accounts.
  • Collaborate with Donor Services Assistants for large volume donation periods.
  • Collect and follow up on monthly tenant rent payments, recording journal entries for received payments.
  • Process income from events, mission trips, and other organizational programs.
  • Assist with deferred income and reconciliations for wire transfers and other revenue streams.
  • Manage petty cash reimbursements and allocate shared service charges to internal departments.
  • Assist with invoicing, prepare financial reports for upper management, and provide support with financial reconciliations and journal entries.
Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of nonprofit finance/accounting experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree required, if it's in accounting or finance, that is a PLUS
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit revenue streams, including donations, grants, and program service revenue.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite and Raiser's Edge (or other CRM/accounting systems used in nonprofit finance).
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Customer service-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving attitude.
Compensation and Benefits:

This exciting career opportunity allows you to work with a passionate and thriving team. The salary range for this role is $50,000-$55,000yr. You will also be able to receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, PTO, Life Insurance, paid holidays, and 403b plan.
