Commercial Insurance Risk Control Specialist

Role Overview
At EXL, we are seeking a self-directed Commercial Insurance Risk Control Specialist to join our team. As a Risk Control Specialist, you will work from your own home or office, conducting onsite survey/inspection assignments in the Norfolk / Hampton, VA area and other locations within approximately 100 miles of Norfolk and Hampton.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule on-site surveys and provide risk control reports to insurance industry clients.
- Manage assignments you accept, successfully secure customer appointments within a local territory, and complete work assignments on time.
- Evaluate businesses behind the scenes to identify hazards and improve safety, mitigating risk for our insurance company clients.
Requirements
Preferred experience in commercial insurance, real estate, inspection, construction, claim, loss control, underwriting, and/or fire and safety experience is a plus. In lieu of experience, we can refer you to a 15-hour online certification option to qualify you. Fees are negotiable depending on experience and the unique aspects of selected jobs.
Tools and Equipment
You will need to provide a digital camera, Windows-based computer with an image/document scanner, printer, high-speed internet access, reliable vehicle, measuring device (such as a laser, 100 ft. tape, or measuring wheel), and Auto and General Liability Insurance.
