Job Summary

Ryder is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team in Mechanicsburg, PA. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on heavy-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
  • Conduct standard component inspections and repairs
  • Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers
  • Identify root causes of failures and perform repairs as required
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred

  • Average weekly pay: $960
  • Hourly pay: $24.00 per hour
  • Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained up to $700
  • Quarterly bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter
  • Sign-on bonus: Ryder pays $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
