Job Summary:

As a Physician Assistant at Kaiser Permanente, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care as part of a collaborative team under the supervision of a physician. Your responsibilities may include managing patients in various settings, such as offices, hospitals, and operating rooms. You may also be required to assist with surgeries or perform other department-specific procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and compile patient medical data, including health history and test results.
  • Administer or order diagnostic tests, such as imaging studies, electrocardiograms, and laboratory tests, and interpret test results for deviations from normal.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care, and manage infections.
  • Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and assist in providing continuity of care.
  • Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • First assist in surgeries or perform procedures as applicable.
  • Round on inpatients.
  • Perform admission evaluations, including obtaining basic medical information and history, reviewing patient medical records, performing physical exams, documenting findings into patient medical records, and reporting deviations from normal findings to attending physicians.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program.
  • Physician Assistant License (California) required at hire.
  • Physician Assistant National Certificate required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Robot training preferred.
  • First assist experience required.
