- Evaluate alternative construction methods and solutions to enhance the competitiveness of bids.
- Verify the accuracy of quantity take-offs to ensure reliable data is utilized in estimates.
- Leverage historical cost data as a benchmark to validate estimates.
- Apply advanced mathematical techniques to ensure that estimated costs are logically sound and accurate.
- Assess bidding risks and strategies, presenting estimates and engaging in bid reviews with senior management to ensure thoroughness and precision.
- Conduct competitive analysis and maintain communication with owners, subcontractors, and relevant entities to uphold competitiveness.
- Relay estimate details to field operations during pre-construction meetings to ensure clarity regarding project scope and critical construction methods.
- Build and sustain professional relationships to enhance bidding opportunities within the regional market.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
Experience
- A minimum of 7 years in construction estimating, engineering, field support, or related fields.
- At least 4 years of direct estimating experience.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), AGTEK Take-off, and Primavera Scheduling software.
- Advanced proficiency in estimating software.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Comprehensive understanding of agency (U)DBE requirements.
Physical Requirements

Eligible salaried employees can choose from two PPO medical plans through Anthem BlueCross, with Granite covering 100% of the premium for eligible employees and their dependents for our most popular plan. Employees also have the option to enroll in a Health Savings Account (HSA) or a Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
As part of our commitment to your future, Granite offers a 100% match on the first 6% of eligible compensation that salaried employees contribute to their 401(k) plans, with immediate vesting.
Benefits may differ for positions located outside of the continental United States.
Salary Range:
$90,000 - $135,383.00Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
