Position Summary:

UpTalent Consulting is seeking a dedicated Senior Financial Controller to oversee and manage comprehensive accounting and controllership functions. This role reports directly to the CFO and requires a profound understanding of accounting principles in alignment with US GAAP. The ideal candidate will provide insightful reviews and feedback across various financial matters while showcasing exceptional project management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the monthly financial reporting close process, ensuring accurate capture and reporting of financial transactions in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Supervise and coordinate the financial statement audit with external auditors.
  • Offer technical accounting expertise in SaaS and healthcare revenue recognition under ASC 606, addressing variable consideration, multiple element arrangements, and timing of revenue recognition.
  • Provide guidance on other accounting areas, including share-based compensation, ASC 842 leasing, and capitalized expenses.
  • Draft technical accounting memos on relevant topics and emerging accounting issues.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including footnotes and supporting schedules.
  • Manage user support and administration for financial systems, including maintenance of the chart of accounts and training on application changes.
  • Oversee the annual SOC 1 audit process.
  • Continuously assess system processes organization-wide and lead initiatives to enhance internal and external reporting.
  • Facilitate the internal processes and external support for audits, reviews, tax filings, and state registrations.
  • Engage in ad hoc projects as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related quantitative field with a strong academic record.
  • Over 8 years of leadership experience in accounting.
  • Active CPA License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with a Big Four public accounting firm.
  • Background in PBM, PBA, healthcare, or SaaS industries.
  • Proficiency in ERP system implementations and roll-outs.
  • Ability to innovate and enhance existing processes through automation.
  • Strong project management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Leadership experience in team development and performance enhancement.
  • In-depth knowledge of SEC regulations and practices.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional projects and delivering results.
  • Capacity to manage multiple complex projects concurrently.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing priorities.
