Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to join our team at Zaremba Management Company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the accounting and financial reporting functions, establishing and enforcing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Oversee the accounting staff, including accounts payable and accounts receivable staff, through coaching and counseling employees.
  • Prepare, review, and ensure timely issuance of financial records for Zaremba-owned and third-party managed properties.
  • Oversee the month-end closing process and prepare, review, and analyze monthly cash flow statements and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Partner with senior team members, outside CPA firms, auditors, and property managers to streamline overall accounting and financial reporting operations.
  • Manage the tax compliance process, including real estate, CAT, and year-end federal, state, and local income tax preparation with outside CPA firms.
  • Oversee real estate tax processing to ensure timely payment and avoid penalties.
  • Review and approve invoices using a third-party accounts payable platform.
  • Partner with lending brokers and financial institutions for mortgage refinancing and with insurance brokers for annual property and liability insurance renewals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with seven plus years of accounting experience and three plus years of supervision experience.
  • Experience in public accounting and real estate is strongly preferred.
  • A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
