Position Title: SIC Rigging Foreman
Job Overview: EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Rigging Foreman for an upcoming project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establishes hoisting apparatus for the elevation and placement of structural steel components.
- Secures steel elements to the hoisting cable using chains, cables, or ropes.
- Communicates with operators of hoisting machinery to maneuver and position steel components.
- Utilizes tag lines to guide components into place.
- Adjusts steel components into approximate positions while they are supported by lifting devices.
- Finalizes positioning of components using turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks, and hand tools.
- Aligns holes in components with corresponding holes in previously installed elements using drift pins or wrenches.
- Confirms vertical and horizontal alignment of components with plumb bobs and levels.
- Secures aligned components temporarily until they can be permanently fastened or welded.
- Modifies steel components as necessary.
- Identifies and responds to hazardous conditions or situations.
- Maintains regular attendance.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proficient in both written and verbal communication.
- Completes all required safety and job training as mandated by EMCOR.
- Adheres to EMCOR and client safety and quality protocols consistently.
Physical and Job Site Requirements:
- Must effectively utilize all necessary personal protective equipment and lift up to fifty pounds.
- Work environments may include offices, shops, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped sites, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather.
- Must safely access all areas of properties, buildings, structures, rooftops, and confined spaces.
- Physical stamina is essential to perform the key functions associated with this role.
- Must be capable of safely operating all relevant equipment and tools.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend frequently, and work in confined spaces with limited access, including ladders and personnel lifts.
