Rigging Foreman

We are seeking a skilled Rigging Foreman to join our team for a project in DeSoto, KS. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up hoisting equipment, fastening steel members, and guiding members into position.

• Hoisting Equipment Setup: Sets up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural steel members.
• Steel Member Fastening: Fastens steel members to cable of hoist, using chain, cable, or rope.
• Signaling and Guiding: Signals worker operating hoisting equipment to lift and place steel member, and guides member using a tag line (rope).
• Positioning and Alignment: Pulls, pushes, or pries steel members into approximate position while member is supported by hoisting device, and forces members into final position using turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks, and hand tools.
• Verification and Bolting: Verifies vertical and horizontal alignment of members using a plumb bob and level, and bolts aligned members to keep them in position until they can be permanently bolted or welded in place.
• Alterations and Safety: Detects, recognizes, and responds to dangerous conditions or situations, and performs other duties as required.

• Communication Skills: Skilled in both written and verbal communication.
• Safety and Training: Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC, and observe SIC and Customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.

• Physical Demands: Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds.
• Working Conditions: Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped properties, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions.
• Access and Safety: Must be able to safely access all areas of property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops, and other elevated positions, as well as confined spaces.
• Equipment Operation: Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools.
• Physical Abilities: Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, in workboats, and working in awkward body positions.
