Position Overview:
The Emergency Department Registration Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of patient registration for both outpatient and inpatient services at Monash University. This role includes verifying insurance details, processing cash collections, and ensuring exceptional customer service is delivered at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough and precise registration and admission processes to enhance reimbursement opportunities and ensure timely access to patient information for healthcare providers.
- Maintain a welcoming and supportive environment for patients and their families, effectively communicating to facilitate smooth patient flow and uphold high standards of customer relations.
- Adhere to financial policies and procedures while providing compassionate access to services.

Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in customer service is essential.
- Recent experience (within the last two years) in a healthcare setting performing duties such as registration, billing, or patient check-in is mandatory.

Skills Required:
- Proficiency in operating computers in a Windows environment, utilizing software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for report generation and management.
- Ability to work independently while following written and verbal instructions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster professional relationships with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Capability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction.
