Position Summary:
This is a senior-level role requiring a deep understanding of quality engineering principles. The Principal Quality Engineer will be responsible for identifying, implementing, and assessing the success of various Black Belt initiatives aimed at enhancing engineering processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and innovate opportunities for continuous improvement.
  2. Support projects initiated by Black Belt professionals.
  3. Provide Six Sigma expertise to the engineering team, including data analysis and facilitation of DMAIC methodologies.
  4. Guide quality assurance efforts on engineering projects and assist with design controls.
  5. Oversee the verification and validation processes for engineering projects.
  6. Engage in the Technical Process by defining and executing risk assessments.
  7. Participate in the Management Requirements Process to ensure effective requirements flow down.
  8. Lead and facilitate the Causal Analysis and Resolution Process.
  9. Coordinate the Common Failure Review Board.
  10. Assist in the Risk Management and Opportunities Process.
  11. Document and facilitate the development of action plans for identified program risks.
  12. Measure program performance against established objectives and report monthly results to senior management.
  13. Ensure adherence to Quality Management Systems, Policies, and Certifications.
  14. Collaborate with Program Managers to assess and report on program health throughout each stage gate phase.
  15. Manage and coordinate change requests within the engineering function.
  16. Collect and analyze data related to observations, evaluations, assessments, and the causal analysis and resolution process.
  17. Facilitate and execute the closeout of programs by applying lessons learned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Quality and/or Engineering at a systems level. Candidates should possess hands-on product engineering experience, strong leadership capabilities, and proven experience in facilitating Six Sigma projects while mentoring teams in the application of Six Sigma tools. Solid project management skills and interpersonal finesse, including negotiation and facilitation skills, are essential. Experience with hardware/software test verification and validation is required. Six Sigma Black Belt certification is highly desirable.
