Compensation:
- Starting Salary: $100,750 + Additional Pay for Experience, Education, Shift, and Certifications.
Facilities Overview:
- NYC Health + Hospitals/Carter (EAST HARLEM): A premier specialty care hospital and nursing facility focused on delivering high-quality medical, sub-acute, rehabilitative, and long-term specialty services.
- NYC Health + Hospitals/Gouverneur (Lower East Side): Offers comprehensive primary and specialty outpatient care through its Diagnostic and Treatment Center (D&TC) and provides residential care for the elderly and infirmed in its 295-bed Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
Work Schedule:
- Day Shift: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- Evening Shift: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM
- Overnight Shift: 11:45 PM - 7:45 AM
Position Responsibilities:
Under supervision, you will deliver professional nursing care to patients within a designated unit. You will assess and address health issues through nursing methods and techniques, including case-finding, health education, counseling, and supportive care to enhance life quality.
- Develop, implement, and assess nursing care plans using the nursing process.
- Create and execute comprehensive nursing care strategies, prioritizing and directing care to meet patient needs.
- Monitor patient responses and adjust care plans as necessary, ensuring accurate documentation as per established policies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care, including discussions on education and discharge planning.
- Process physician orders and administer medications/treatments in accordance with all policies.
- Assume charge nurse duties as required.
- Maintain professional growth through ongoing education and participation in mandatory training sessions.
- Adhere to safety protocols related to fire, disaster, infection control, and other safety practices.
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives and committee participation as assigned.
- Perform additional related duties as needed.
- Supervise and guide Licensed Practical Nurses, Medical Surgical Technicians, Certified Nurse's Aides, or other nursing personnel in resident care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current New York State license and registration as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
