Position: General Maintenance Worker

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated General Maintenance Worker to support our operations at a government facility. This role involves performing a range of maintenance and repair tasks across multiple trades, focusing on mechanical and electrical systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct maintenance and repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Assist skilled trades personnel with various maintenance tasks.
  • Regularly inspect facilities, completing maintenance checklists and service calls.
  • Support trades personnel in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, including filter changes and cleaning of equipment.
  • Manage minor painting and touch-up tasks as part of routine maintenance.
  • Assist in snow removal and other seasonal maintenance activities.
  • Report any deficiencies or issues to the supervisor promptly.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Active TOP SECRET Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
  • At least 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or operations.
  • Hands-on experience with various skilled trades.
  • Basic carpentry skills and familiarity with tools.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Extended periods of standing and walking.
  • Capability to push, pull, or move equipment and supplies.
  • Manual dexterity and mobility for various tasks.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching required.
