Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with inquiries regarding tax collector services and procedures; process payments through various methods; review and maintain documentation and applications; ensure accurate posting of payments.
  • Perform cashiering duties; verify accuracy of transactions in accordance with departmental guidelines; balance daily financial records.
  • Address customer inquiries or issues, conduct research to resolve problems effectively.
  • Participate in driver license services, including conducting necessary tests and inspections.
  • Execute general clerical duties; maintain and update customer information.
  • Collaborate with management and stakeholders to coordinate work activities and resolve issues.
  • Stay informed on policies, procedures, and relevant legislation; keep up with agency updates.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED; experience in customer service or call center roles and cash handling preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a valid Florida driver's license are required.

2. A Bachelor's degree in business management or a related field and proficiency in a second language are advantageous.

3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; proven problem-solving abilities; well-organized with effective time management skills.

Work Environment:

Work is conducted under general supervision with some discretion in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements: The role may involve light physical effort, including lifting and carrying light objects (5-10 lbs) and extended periods at a workstation.

Sensory Requirements: Tasks require the ability to perceive visual cues and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Environmental Factors: Essential functions are performed in a controlled environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
