Job Summary

The CAD Drafter 3 - Technical Specialist is responsible for performing drafting services using CAD software and Civil3D for a variety of civil engineering, permitting, and survey-related tasks. This role requires a strong work ethic, organizational skills, and judgment, as well as intermediate to advanced-level drafting proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform drafting services using CAD software and Civil3D for civil engineering, permitting, and survey-related tasks.
  • Exercise a strong work ethic, organizational skills, and judgment in completing tasks.
  • Demonstrate intermediate to advanced-level drafting proficiency and ability to quickly learn and apply new drafting skills.
  • Work collaboratively with others, absorb and apply constructive criticism, and seek guidance from more experienced team members as needed.
  • Meet budget and schedule expectations on projects.
  • Understand and employ drafting standards, including CAD standards for DOWL and clients.
  • Accurately interpret redlines and update CAD drawings and details.
  • Create new sheets for projects and keep work product organized in multiple layered files.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree preferred.
  • 4 years of experience required.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Work Environment

The work environment is typically moderate, with occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear, and must occasionally stand, walk, and use hands. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
