About the Role:
The Cardiovascular Technologist plays a crucial role in assisting healthcare professionals in diagnosing and treating disorders related to the heart, lungs, and blood vessels. This position involves performing both invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests on cardiovascular and pulmonary systems, operating specialized imaging equipment, and supporting various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Support physicians during procedures, utilizing specialized equipment and adjusting technical parameters as necessary.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs throughout procedures, ensuring adherence to radiation safety standards.
- Maintain sterile techniques and follow infection control protocols diligently.
- Operate and maintain physiological equipment in line with established clinical cardiovascular practices.
- Assist in the administration of contrast media during catheterization and monitor patient conditions during examinations.
- Complete necessary documentation related to procedures and maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Perform additional job-related tasks as required.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's Degree or a combination of education and relevant experience is preferred.
- Experience in catheterization is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiography (ARRT-R) certification is required.
- Radiologic Tech (RT) certification in the state of practice is necessary.
- Current Fluoroscopy license is required.
- Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory.
