Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Healthcare Enrollment Specialist to join our team at the Sacramento Native American Health Center. As a key member of our clinical front office team, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless patient access to healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and enrollment status for new and existing patients
  • Collect and update demographic information, financial data, and payer source status
  • Determine eligibility for public insurance programs and obtain verification of private insurance
  • Utilize electronic health records software to obtain eligibility and pre-authorization information
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to patients regarding insurance and healthcare enrollment
  • Collaborate with Certified Enrollment Counselors to facilitate enrollment and re-enrollment of Medicaid, ACA, and other state and federal programs
Requirements
  • 1+ year of experience working in a clinical front office setting
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, Presumptive Eligibility, and local Geographic Managed Care Plans
  • Experience with electronic health records software, preferably NextGen
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on working with diverse populations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to healthcare enrollment
  • Experience with data entry and record-keeping
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
