**Job Summary:**

The South Bend Community School Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Associate Dean of Students to join our team. As a key member of our administrative staff, the Associate Dean of Students will play a critical role in supporting the district-wide goals of helping students stay in the classroom/school and maintaining a safe and positive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Daily Operations: Assist the principal and other administrative staff with daily managerial and operational tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the school.
  • Supervise Enrichment Activities: Supervise and support enrichment activities, including before and after school programming and/or Saturday school, to provide students with additional learning opportunities.
  • MTSS Support: Work with staff, students, and families to guide and support them in understanding the MTSS process and implement successful Tier I interventions through a PBIS school-wide system.
  • Behavioral Intervention Plans: Work with students, staff, and parents to develop Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP's) as part of the Tier II process to support students with behavioral challenges.
  • Advocacy and Communication: Serve as an advocate for students to help resolve classroom issues and communicate effectively with parents and community members.
  • Data Management: Maintain data specific to the Code of Conduct, PBIS, and BIPs to inform student individualized plans and make data-driven decisions.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of all student records and information.
  • Student Monitoring: Monitor students in the morning at rotating stations to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Staff Support: Assist staff in developing strong classroom and school-wide management systems to promote a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Parent Education: Provide home-to-school communication and parent education systems to support student success.
  • Resource Identification: Identify potential resources to assist students in need of support to reduce their susceptibility to disciplinary actions.
  • Student Celebration: Create systems of celebration or expanded learning opportunities for all students to promote student success.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree: A Master's degree is required for this position.
  • Administration Certification: Enrolled in or completion of Administration Certification is preferred.
  • Experience: Experience working with diverse populations, community agencies, and groups is essential.
  • Child Development Knowledge: Strong knowledge of child development is required.
  • Relationship Building: Demonstrated skill in building relationships, trust, and respect is essential.
  • Problem-Solving: A creative and imaginative approach to problems is necessary.
  • Communication Skills: Strong speaking and writing abilities are required.
