Early Childhood Learning Assistant Position Summary

\

The Kiddie University Capitol Hill is seeking an Early Childhood Learning Assistant to support our dedicated team of educators in creating a nurturing and educational environment for children.

\

Responsibilities:

  • \
  • Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing engaging lesson plans and activities that promote learning and development.\
  • Provide direct care and supervision to children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.\
  • Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, including cleaning up after activities and meals.\
  • Communicate effectively with parents and staff members to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.\
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in early childhood education.\

Requirements:

  • \
  • A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or an Associate degree (or higher) in any subject area; OR completion of at least 60 credit hours in any subject area; OR a state-awarded certificate comparable to a CDA approved by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE); OR a High school diploma or equivalent provided the individual earns a CDA within two years of their initial date of hire as an assistant teacher at a child development center.\
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly in a daycare or preschool setting.\
  • A strong understanding of child development principles.\
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.\
  • The ability to work cooperatively with both children and adults.\
  • CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.\

Salary and Benefits:
