At Murfreesboro Medical Clinic, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Nurse Specialist to join our team. This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires a strong understanding of occupational health and safety principles. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct and indirect nursing care to employees, assessing health status, and promoting overall health and well-being within the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and implement employee health orientation programs, collaborating with departmental directors and administrators to ensure seamless integration throughout the facility.
- Assist in revising and updating policies and procedures related to employee health, making recommendations to the Director of HR as needed.
- Conduct pre-employment testing and vaccination processes, reporting all results and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Attend required meetings and provide support to the CODE team, including calling 911 and directing patients when necessary.
- Assist with employee testing for community-spread outbreaks, such as COVID-19, and perform communicable disease exposure follow-up as required.
- Work closely with Human Resources to monitor employee work-related illness and injury trends, assessing and implementing strategies to prevent work-acquired injury or illness.
- Document work-related injuries and file work comp claims, ensuring confidentiality and maintaining accurate records.
- Perform bloodborne pathogen exposure assessment, treatment, and follow-up, keeping logs and documenting required by OSHA.
- Coordinate preventative screening programs, including immunizations and TB skin tests, and notify the County and State Health Department of any reportable diseases.
- Current licensure as an LPN
- Minimum of three years' clinical experience in healthcare
- Advanced knowledge and skill in all aspects of immunizations for adults
- Proficiency in documenting patient care in an electronic medical record and Microsoft Office software
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
