About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Vice President of Contract Surety Underwriting to join our team at IAT Insurance Group. As a key member of our underwriting management team, you will be responsible for managing the underwriting and marketing operations of our Contract Surety and Specialty Surety lines of business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Manage and assist assigned regional offices in achieving their budgeted financial results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement underwriting guidelines and policies.
  • Establish and manage short and long-range goals and objectives for assigned regions.
  • Perform all functions of personnel management of Regional Managers.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for the Home Office Contract and Specialty Surety Divisions and Regional Profit Centers.
  • Review and approve Regional Manager expense accounts.
  • Provide training and direction to the Regional Manager and Profit Center staff.
  • Act as a partner with Regional Managers to review marketing plans and determine appropriate levels of Home Office visibility to support agency/principal relationship.
  • Maintain knowledge of current developments in the surety and agency industries as well as the industry of the principals to whom the company provides suretyship.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and more than 10 years of relevant Surety industry experience or equivalent.
  • Extensive Contract Surety experience is a must along with Specialty Surety ability.
  • 6+ years of supervisory experience including a proven track record of coaching, mentoring, and providing career development direction to direct reports.
  • Field experience.
