Job Overview

Position Summary

The Head of Financial Strategy will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will oversee the budgeting, forecasting, and consolidation processes to ensure timely and accurate management reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc basis. This role emphasizes the collection and analysis of data, providing essential reports that support the management team in making informed operational decisions and driving improvements.

This position will also manage Financial Planning & Analysis for the Sales division, including responsibilities for forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis against established benchmarks.

Additionally, the role will contribute to strategic planning initiatives, leveraging historical data and current forecasts to align with the company's business objectives. The individual will play a crucial role in supporting the company's growth and will be tasked with maintaining consistency in financial processes across various locations, as well as assisting with the integration of mergers and acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring consistency across all operational sites.
  • Provide guidance and support to Finance, M&A, Operations, and Sales teams.
  • Assist in monthly financial forecasting and performance management, focusing on continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Oversee the administration of the automated financial reporting system.
  • Plan and control capital expenditures, ensuring consistent application across all locations and conducting post-project analyses to evaluate cost savings.
  • Conduct special projects and ad-hoc financial analyses to enhance management's understanding of business performance and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and mentoring skills, with the ability to connect financial outcomes to operational performance.
  • Extensive experience in developing complex financial models to articulate operational costs effectively.
  • Solid understanding of financial and accounting principles that influence operations and overall company performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial information clearly.
  • Experience in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities and high expectations.
  • Proficiency in financial systems, particularly with QAD and advanced Excel skills.
  • Significant experience with financial consolidations and familiarity with financial software.
  • A commitment to a long-term career with a forward-thinking organization.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Over 10 years of progressive experience in Finance/Accounting within a manufacturing context.
  • Demonstrated ability in process improvement and team development.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with skills in pivot tables and macros.
  • Experience in creating impactful presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with IQMS and similar financial applications is advantageous.
