Chairman - Department of Dermatology

Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University is seeking a Chair for the Department of Dermatology who will report directly to the Provost/Dean and be responsible for managing and aligning the department's academic, research, and clinical activities with the ODU mission.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to ensure that the Departmental activities further the EVMS mission and vision.
  • Provide administrative and supervisory support to educational, clinical, and research missions.
  • Participate in administrative department policy and procedural development.
  • Participate in education evaluation and career development of students, residents, fellows, and staff.
  • Collaborate with peers, faculty, and support staff.
  • Participate in academic, clinical, and research activities as needed.
  • Participate in committees as assigned.
  • Provide physician care to patients in office/hospital setting.
  • Participate in clinical based research projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • MD, DO, MD/PhD, or equivalent terminal degree in a related area.
  • Must be board certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
  • Must possess or be eligible for an unrestricted Medical License in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Academic credentials that qualify for appointment as Associate or Full Professor.
