Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician to join our team at VCA Los Angeles Veterinary Specialist. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our doctors in delivering high-quality medical services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia for endoscopy, CT, and other IM procedures
  • Collect patient histories and conduct thorough physical exams
  • Perform venipuncture, IVC placement, advanced venipuncture, and venous access
  • Work collaboratively with team members from all hospital services
  • Calculate medical math, including advanced and setting up constant rate infusions (CRI)
  • Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures
  • Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education
  • Provide compassionate care for all patients
  • Perform state-of-the-art diagnostics
  • Ensure documentation is appropriate, thorough, and complete
Requirements:
  • Experienced, credentialed technicians are preferred
  • New graduates must have a strong interest in internal medicine and a keen ability to apply knowledge and advance quickly
  • Assist Board-Certified Internal Medicine doctors with consultations and other patient/client needs
  • Think analytically through disease processes and patient needs
  • Hands-on learning, didactic training, and collaboration on case management and treatment
  • Experience with multi-modal monitoring equipment
