About the Role:

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our integrated care team, you will provide evidence-based assessments and interventions to patients in a fast-paced primary care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide brief, solution-focused assessments and interventions to patients with a broad spectrum of physical and mental health problems.
  • Collaborate with medical and allied health providers to develop clear treatment plans for patient management.
  • Utilize electronic health records and verbal communication to effectively communicate relevant information to medical providers.
  • Provide patient and family education to encourage compliance with medical and behavioral treatment plans.
  • Teach classes and groups related to integrated behavioral health, such as chronic pain management and stress reduction.
  • Consult with other members of the primary care team on mental health, chemical dependency, and behavioral medicine topics.
  • Assess and manage suicidal and homicidal risk, as well as concerns for child or elder abuse and neglect.
  • Coordinate with crisis teams, law enforcement, and other external resources as needed.
  • Perform clinical, compliance, and administrative duties related to Medicare billing.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in social work or a related behavioral health field.
  • Minimum two years of post-master's practice experience in applied psychotherapy or integrated behavioral health in a primary care setting.
  • Colorado licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) and Taxonomy code required at time of hire.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced primary care setting and manage multiple competing demands.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bi- or multi-lingual.
