About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operations Specialist to join our Highway, Equipment & Drains Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of motorized maintenance and construction equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a range of heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, snowplows, tractors, and other machinery to assist with construction, repair, and/or maintenance projects.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks on all equipment, machinery, and vehicles used during work assignments.
  • Participate in snow and ice removal operations, as well as other inclement weather-related services.
  • Assist in coordinating and monitoring contractual snow removal crews.
  • Lift heavy objects and work continuously under varying weather conditions.

Requirements

  • Possession of a valid MA Hoisting Engineer hydraulics license, 2A or higher, is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid commercial CDL class B driver's license with general knowledge & airbrakes is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve department goals and objectives.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is around $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience. The Town of Lexington offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
