At UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Critical Care Specialist to join our team in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU).

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a specialty setting, with Level 1 trauma experience required. The ideal candidate will be proficient in managing foley catheters, surgical drains, surgical oncology, wound vacs, ostomy, ports and PICCs, TPN, and lipids.

This is a 14-week assignment with a guaranteed salary of $2412.00 per week. You will work in an acute progressive care unit, managing heavy trauma and gastrointestinal post-operative patients. The role involves providing post-operative care for trauma/general surgery patients, with experience in managing abdominal surgeries.

You will be required to float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals nearby, participating in a call schedule with response times as specified. Adhering to floating requirements, including assisting in the main Post Anesthesia Care Unit when needed, is essential.

A high standard of patient care within a Level 1 trauma setting is expected from the successful candidate. In addition to proficiency in handling medical equipment and procedures, you must also complete orientation and annual specialty modules as part of training and development.
