The Customer Service Representative I plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding customer service and represents Kitsap Bank with professionalism and courtesy to clients across various branches. This position involves accurately processing and documenting routine transactions for bank clients while actively promoting the bank's offerings to enhance and deepen client relationships.

Compensation Structure:

Grade: 12 Range: $22.16

Grade: 13 Range: $23.94

Grade: 14 Range: $25.25

Grade: 15 Range: $27.74

This role may qualify for quarterly incentive pay and an annual bonus based on business performance and employee eligibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently processes and records routine transactions for bank clients, including cashing checks, accepting deposits and withdrawals, processing credit card and loan payments, and facilitating money transfers.
  • Engages in initiatives to strengthen client relationships by identifying opportunities to discuss and recommend Kitsap Bank products and services, referring clients to appropriate support staff when necessary.
  • Discusses consumer and commercial offerings, providing product rate quotes when applicable.
  • Assists with branch opening and closing procedures.
  • Supports clients with safe deposit box services, including processing payments and key deposits.
  • Researches and addresses client inquiries, verifies account details, resolves concerns, or escalates issues to management as needed.
  • Embraces and promotes the Kitsap Bank corporate culture in all interactions.
  • Develops and maintains a foundational knowledge of current bank products and services.
  • May perform or assist with vault and ATM responsibilities.
  • Ensures compliance with bank policies, security protocols, and safety procedures in all tasks.
  • Safeguards the confidentiality and security of client information.

Additional Duties:

  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least six months of experience in cash handling, customer service, and/or sales.
  • Proficient in cash handling.
  • Team-oriented with a positive demeanor.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel between branches as necessary.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, and percentages.
  • Proficient in using computer technology.
  • Ability to operate standard banking and office equipment.
  • Previous banking experience is preferred.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Position frequently requires hearing, speaking, manual dexterity, standing, walking, and repetitive hand/wrist motions.
  • Requires both close and distance vision.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, effectively communicating with bank clients.
  • Ability to assess information and determine appropriate actions.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 30 pounds.
