The Client Service Specialist I plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding customer service and representing Kitsap Bank with professionalism and courtesy to clients across various branches. This position is responsible for accurately processing and recording routine transactions for bank clients while actively promoting the bank's products and services to enhance client relationships.

Compensation Structure:

Grade: 12 Range: $22.16

Grade: 13 Range: $23.94

Grade: 14 Range: $25.25

Grade: 15 Range: $27.74

This role may qualify for quarterly incentive pay and an annual bonus based on business performance and employee eligibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently processes and records routine transactions for bank clients, including cashing checks, accepting deposits and withdrawals, processing credit card and loan payments, and managing money transfers.
  • Engages in initiatives to strengthen client relationships by identifying opportunities to discuss and offer Kitsap Bank products and services as solutions to client needs, referring them to appropriate support staff when necessary.
  • Provides information on consumer and commercial products, quoting product rates when applicable.
  • Assists with branch and drive-up opening and closing procedures.
  • Facilitates safe deposit box services for clients, processing payments and key deposits.
  • Investigates and addresses client inquiries, verifies account information, resolves concerns, or escalates to management as needed.
  • Embraces and promotes the Kitsap Bank corporate culture in all interactions.
  • Maintains a foundational knowledge of current bank products and services.
  • May perform or provide backup for vault and ATM responsibilities.
  • Adheres to bank policies and complies with all security, compliance, and safety procedures.
  • Ensures the safety and confidentiality of client information.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least six months of experience in cash handling, customer service, and/or sales.
  • Proficient in accurately handling cash.
  • Team-oriented with a positive demeanor.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules and travel between branches as required.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, and percentages.
  • Competence in utilizing computer technology.
  • Ability to operate standard banking and office equipment.
  • Prior banking experience is preferred.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during the work shift.
  • Position involves frequent hearing, speaking, finger dexterity, standing, walking, and repetitive hand/wrist motions.
  • Requires close and distance vision capabilities.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English to effectively communicate with clients.
  • Ability to analyze information and take appropriate action.
  • Capability to lift up to 30 pounds.
