Mercy Hospital Ardmore - Senior Behavioral Health Nurse

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Senior Behavioral Health Nurse to join our team at Mercy Hospital Ardmore. As a member of our Senior Behavioral Health Unit, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with psychiatric disorders.

Unit Overview:

Our 13-bed locked unit is a well-unit that cares for senior patients with diagnosed psychiatric disorders. We have a positive culture and a team that is like family. Our patients are medically stable and participate in group therapy daily, led by a certified occupational therapist or technician. Some patients receive individual counseling based on need.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide medication administration, foley placement and care, IV placement and management, wound care, and assistance with ADL's and functional mobility.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including a psychiatrist, virtual nurse practitioners, hospitalists, dieticians, pastoral care, discharge planner, social worker, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech pathologists.
  • Encourage family members to visit during designated visitation hours.

Qualifications:

  • Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
  • Personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed.
  • Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Prolonged standing and walking each shift.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
