About the Job:

Gardner Health Services is a dynamic and progressive company dedicated to providing high-quality medical and mental healthcare services with a community-oriented approach.

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Advocate to join our team. This full-time position will be based in our Opioid Treatment Program in Gardner's Specialty Behavioral Health Department.

The primary goal of this role is to help Severely Mentally Ill Adults and Older Adults build confidence and life skills through supportive relationships with caring professionals like you.

You will work as part of a team that takes an active role in modeling life skills for the Adult/Older Adult in need, providing emotional support, guidance, and encouragement to help them reach their goals.

This recruitment will remain open until filled. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come-first-served basis.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds, including economic, social, racial, and cultural differences.
  • Identify and connect clients with local community resources that meet their unique needs.
  • Maintain a professional and confidential work environment at all times.
  • Serve effectively as a member of a team internally and externally, communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Be flexible, proactive, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and advocating for their rights and interests.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds and value systems.
  • Knowledge of local community resources and the ability to identify potential opportunities for client support.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Experience working with community members from diverse ethnic, social, and economic backgrounds, with a demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
