Job SummaryWe're seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Lead Clerk to join our team. As a Lead Clerk, you'll be responsible for assisting management with the operations of the store, leading by example, and ensuring that all customers receive fast, friendly service. You'll work closely with the department manager to maintain a clean and organized store environment, and provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and guidance to employees in the grocery department, ensuring that they have the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties effectively.
- Monitor customer traffic flow and coverage of checkout lanes to ensure that customers receive prompt and courteous service.
- Assist with the maintenance of a clean and organized store environment, including the grocery department, checkout lanes, and surrounding areas.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Work closely with the department manager to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance the customer experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a retail or grocery environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, customers, and management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, walk, and move rapidly, as well as lift and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to 50 lbs.
