Job Summary

The Vice President of Marine Operations will lead a team responsible for coordinating and executing government vessel operations and engineering, ensuring safety, compliance, and financial performance. This role will work closely with the TOTE Services executive team to formulate and administer organizational strategies, including customer relationship growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operation of assigned fleets, ensuring safe and compliant activities.
  • Develop and execute annual financial plans, analyzing progress toward goals and reporting results.
  • Emphasize customer relationships, supporting customers as needed, and sharing successes and challenges with the TS executive team.
  • Work within the company framework to develop comprehensive RFP responses, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with contract terms and obligations.
  • Establish team goals and objectives, defining responsibilities, authorities, and accountability for team members.
  • Collaborate with vessel senior officers to ensure compliance with vessel policies, safety management, and shipboard leadership strategy.
  • Engage with shared resources to achieve organizational objectives, including Safety, Legal, Labor Relations, Finance, Contracts, Marine Personnel, and Purchasing.
  • Maintain a sound organizational plan to develop skills and experience for team growth and advancement.
  • Represent TOTE Services at industry events, committees, forums, and working groups.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required, with project support or management experience; Master's degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated executive-level presence and leadership.
  • Proven experience in U.S. Flag vessel operations.
  • Strong understanding of maritime safety regulations, environmental protection standards, and best practices in fuel transfer operations.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, collaborate effectively, and communicate complex information.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
