Position Overview:
This role is designed for individuals who will work under the guidance of the Laboratory Manager, executing both standard and advanced laboratory procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining precise and timely records of test outcomes, implementing quality control measures to ensure the accuracy of results, and performing routine maintenance on specialized laboratory equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct chemical analyses on various environmental samples using both traditional wet chemistry techniques and advanced laboratory instrumentation.
- Demonstrate familiarity with the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of diverse analytical instruments.
- Oversee the upkeep of laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Prepare necessary reagents and standards for testing.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization within the laboratory environment.
- Analyze data and compile reports for both internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory.
- Complete daily maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
- Assist in managing quality assurance, audits, and other external evaluations.
- Take responsibility for health and safety protocols in designated areas.
- Implement effective risk management strategies.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Sciences (Chemistry, Physics, Biology) or Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
- 0 to 2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
Training Requirements:
- Training related to environmental standards applicable to the role.
- Safety training for relevant equipment.
- Instructional training specific to job functions.
- Familiarization with quality systems.
- Understanding of OHSAS 18001 standards, including hazards and risks.
