Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Code Compliance Specialist to join our team at the International Code Council Inc. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who want to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to shaping the building code industry.

About the Role

The Building Code Compliance Specialist will be responsible for supporting the development and issuance of ICC-ES reports on the code compliance of building materials, products, and methods. Working closely with all ICC-ES staff, clients, and building officials, this role will involve evaluating technical data, producing reports, and participating in Evaluation Committee hearings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Evaluation: Study and evaluate test reports, calculations, and other technical data submitted by evaluation report applicants.
  • Report Preparation: Prepare correspondence and reports regarding compliance of building products, materials, and methods with applicable codes.
  • Criteria Development: Develop criteria for the acceptance of alternative building methods and materials.
  • Expert Assistance: Provide expert assistance to building departments throughout the United States.
Requirements
  • Education: A university degree in civil or mechanical engineering.
  • Skills: Must possess, or show the ability to quickly acquire, a sound working knowledge of building codes as well as current trends and developments in construction methods and materials.
  • Communication Skills: Good written and oral communication skills.

Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year.
