Job Summary:We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to assemble rail components, including track panels, turnouts, and crossings. The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and be able to follow instructions from blueprints, engineering change documents, and work instructions.
Key Responsibilities:- Assemble rail components, including track panels, turnouts, and crossings, using mechanical aptitude and skills.
- Follow assembly processes and written work instructions, and verbal guidance from department supervisors.
- Use designated instruments to complete inspections of completed parts and accurately record dimensions on quality check sheets.
- Maintain area cleanliness and organization, and follow safety policies and practices when operating equipment and machinery.
- Operate overhead cranes to lift/move/load track segments for the assembly process and in/out of the work area.
- 1-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read a tape measure to the 1/32 and have experience using other instruments such as gauges, calipers, etc.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs, push and pull up to 75lb, and perform frequent and sustained bending, crouching, stopping, kneeing, squatting, and overhead reaching.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, written work instructions, and other visual aids.
- Prior experience using hand tools, pneumatic and electric powered grinders, and impact wrenches, as well as overhead cranes to transport rail and rail components.
