Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) to support our Enterprise Transport Management (ETM) Engineering Change Proposal (ECPs) process. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing engineering change proposal management and support, analyzing ECP requirements, and developing proposed technical solutions that meet cost/schedule and ECP catalog requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering change proposal management and support
  • Analyze ECP requirements and develop proposed technical solutions
  • Develop and execute ECPs such as customer-specific projects, system upgrades, transport network modernization and optimization, systems transitions, and technology refreshment projects
  • Involved in the full ECP execution process - project approach, project plans, integrated master schedule (IMS), work breakdown structure (WBS), engineering installation plans (EIPs), circuit installation plans (CIPs), and supporting project design and planning documents and cost elements
  • Involved in ECP completion and closeout process
  • Prepare ECP updates and deliverables as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Active DOD Secret Clearance
  • 10+ years of relevant experience as a RCDD and 3+ years as senior or lead RCDD in planning and designing cable infrastructure that supports the DoD environment
  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) Certification
  • Outstanding mathematics and IT abilities
  • Experience with site visits for data collection and evaluation of telecommunications and building technologies systems, equipment, components, and materials for projects with and without well-defined scopes
  • Maintenance of inside plant cable infrastructure, including conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber, and associated elements
  • Development of EIPs required for installation of cable racks, wiring of the racks, and testing during installation
  • Current on codes and technologies appropriate to the telecommunications and building technologies design/construction industry

Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
