Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Non-Destructive Test Technician 4 to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Quality department, you will be responsible for conducting ultrasonic inspections on various materials and components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret technical instructions and specifications to ensure accurate testing procedures.
  • Operate ultrasonic inspection equipment and automated systems to evaluate material properties and detect defects.
  • Set up and calibrate equipment, and perform process control checks to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Interpret and report evaluation results, and maintain accurate records and logs.
  • Provide on-the-job training to junior technicians and assist in developing test techniques.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and Level 2 certification in ultrasonics (NAS410).
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in ultrasonic testing using automated and handheld pulse echo units.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings, and document non-conformances as required.
  • Pass vision screen and color blindness tests, and successfully pass general, specific, and practical exams.
  • Ability to work in a variety of physical conditions, and lift up to 25 pounds (occasionally 50 pounds with assistance).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with automated UT inspection systems, and multiple brands of flaw detectors.
  • Knowledge of composite materials, and certification in other NDT methods (Liquid Penetrant, Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle, Radiography).
  • Positive attitude, and ability to work extended or flexible schedules as needed.
