Job Overview:

The Clinical Educator for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) at Northern Light Mercy Hospital is essential in partnering with Clinical Nurse Educators and Leads/Managers to facilitate thorough training for CNAs. This role encompasses the enhancement of orientation pathways for newly hired CNAs, evaluation of competency checklists, and the organization of educational programs that comply with regulatory standards.

This position mandates the preservation of confidentiality, adherence to quality benchmarks, and the reporting of security incidents while actively participating in initiatives aimed at patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and oversee the orientation process for new CNAs.
  • Collaborate on continuous educational programs for CNAs.
  • Support training and competency evaluations for current CNAs.
  • Review annual competency checklists and collect feedback from relevant stakeholders.
  • Deliver instruction for required certifications.
Operational Duties:
  • Ensure the completion and upkeep of competency documentation.
  • Maintain educational records and track them using available technology.
  • Identify educational needs related to equipment and policies.
  • Participate in pertinent meetings and maintain clinical expertise.
