Art Gallery Manager

The Gallery Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Arno Maris Art Gallery, including marketing, community engagement, and exhibition management.

Part-Time Temporary

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the exhibition program and manage the University’s Permanent Collection.
  • Research, curate, and implement exhibitions that align with the educational mission.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing department to create a comprehensive social media strategy.
  • Maintain an updated exhibition calendar and manage the Gallery's online presence.
  • Act as the primary liaison to the media and public to promote the Gallery's cultural contributions.
  • Supervise a team of student employees and coordinate with the Art Department Chair on exhibition selections.
  • Develop exhibitions that address contemporary art issues and the University’s mission.
  • Manage the Gallery’s operational budget and approve expenses in consultation with the Art Department Chair.
  • Assist with recruitment events related to the arts.

Qualifications:
  • B.A. or B.F.A. is required.
  • Experience in marketing and social media content creation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Knowledge of art handling, conservation, and exhibition design.
  • Experience in developing exhibition programming in educational settings.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in a dynamic environment.
